[ San Diego Comic-Con International / July 2024 ]
After skipping last year, I went to Comic-Con this year, but only for a day. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the participation of major American film and entertainment companies has noticeably decreased, while the involvement of Japanese manga and toy companies seems to have significantly increased. Inside the convention center, the focus was primarily on exhibitions, but there were actually more events happening outdoors. However, compared to a few years ago, the overall scale of the event has shrunk considerably, so there weren’t as many things to see, which was a bit disappointing. It seems like San Diego is getting hotter with each passing year. Standing in line under the blazing sun, I realized a hat just wasn’t enough. This year, there were noticeably more people carrying parasols, and with the long wait times, it seems like bringing a long-sleeve shirt and a parasol is a must. As I get older, standing for long periods is really starting to take a toll on my legs, so I think a portable chair is now an essential item as well.
작년은 건너뛰고, 올해는 코믹콘에 하루만 다녀왔습니다. 코로나 팬데믹 이후, 미국의 대형 영화 엔터테인먼트 회사들의 참여는 눈에 띄게 줄어든 반면, 일본 망가와 토이 회사들의 참여는 크게 늘어난 것 같습니다. 어쨌든, 컨벤션 센터 내부는 전시 중심으로 이루어졌고, 오히려 야외에서 진행된 다양한 행사가 더 많았습니다. 하지만 몇 년 전과 비교해 전체적으로 행사 규모가 많이 줄어들어서 그런지, 볼거리가 예전만큼 풍부하지 않아서 아쉽네요. 해가 갈수록 샌디에고도 점점 더 더워지는 것 같습니다. 땡볕에서 줄을 서다 보니 모자로는 충분하지 않더군요. 올해는 양산을 들고 다니는 사람들이 유독 많았는데, 줄 서는 시간이 길어서 긴팔 셔츠와 양산은 꼭 챙겨가야 할 듯. 나이가 들다 보니 이제는 오래 서 있으면 다리 통증이 심해져서, 의자도 추가 필수템인 것 같습니다.

그냥 지나가다가 뭐지?하며 들어갔는데 해당 부스 사진을 찍어서 올리면 티셔츠 + 즉석에서 음료도 만들어줬는데 정말 시원하고 맛있어서 갈증도 해소되고 너무 만족스러웠음. 심지어 대기줄도 없었음.

| 야외 BoxLunch 부스에서 이벤트를 하길래 땡볕 아래서 1시간을 넘게 기다렸는데 쇼핑백이랑 아이스바 1개를 받음. 겨우 이걸 받으려고 그 고생을 했나 싶었는데 (앞 뒤로도 줄이 엄청 길었음) 무심코 쇼핑백 안을 들여다봤더니 요것이 들어 있었음! |
